Youth

The Partnership has tried to address the needs of the young people of the village in a variety of ways.

Many of our Board Members are also members of other groups, many of which are focussed on youth activities.  By working in partnership with everyone involved in youth, we aim to deliver the best possible facilities/services for our young people.

Youth Club

The Youth Club is held every Tuesday night and split into two age ranges – Under 11s and Over 11s.  The Partnership employs a support worker to work with the volunteers on a programme of activities for both age groups and to assist where necessary.  Part of that role is to engage outside agencies such as Positive Futures to provide extra activities.

Play Scheme

The Play Scheme is held for one or two weeks every year in the summer holidays.  Each day a programme of activities is arranged in which the youngsters can participate.  Football, netball, pool and table tennis tournaments run alongside art & craft competitions.  A trip to the seaside and the disco, held on the last day, have become a traditional part of the Scheme.

I.T. Centre

Each week from Monday to Thursday the Centre runs after school children’s sessions.  Although they were set up to help with homework, many enjoy just chilling out and playing on the interactive games.

As mentioned on other pages, the Partnership helps find funding for facilities and organises many events throughout the year to cater for the needs of the youth:-
